NAME of CLASS and DESCRIPTION Western Halter Horse: Suggested by not limited to stock horse breeds. May be asked walk/trot, set-up. Based on the horses overall conformation in relation to breed type. Showmanship: May be asked to perform pattern at Walk/Trot, spin, back up & set-up. Draft/Draft Cross Open: Designed ONLY for Draft/Draft Cross Horses. Handler may be asked to trot & set-up. May be judged individually, standing, at a walk trot on the line. Horse must be sound, must stand square in front. Rear legs may be slightly back. Emphasis is on type & conformation. Halter or English Bridle permitted. Please wear comfortable clothing with running shoes or paddock boots. English attire also permitted. Grooming: May be asked to trot, set-up. Judging is based on cleanliness of horse and overall presentation. Walk/Trot and Leadline riders are eligible. English In Hand Horse: Suggested but not limited to Saddle Horses. Handler may be asked to trot & set-up. May be judged individually, standing, at a walk, trot on the line. Horse must be sound, must stand square in front. Rear legs may be slightly back. Leadline 8 & Under: Basic positioning & ability to guide the horse. Adult must be in control at all times. May be asked to trot, reverse & back up. Bareback Equitation: Open to English or Western attire. Judged on the ability of the rider to walk, jog or trot, and lope or canter while riding without a saddle. English riders must be able to show a post at the trot, and western riders are not allowed to wear their chaps during this class. Walk/Trot English Equitation: Ability of rider at a walk & trot. Rider may be asked to back up. English Equitation: Ability of rider at a walk, trot & canter. Rider may be asked to back up. Walk/Trot English Pleasure: The pleasure horse should be ridden with very little resistance and should be a pleasure to ride at a walk & trot. Rider may be asked to back up. English Pleasure: The pleasure horse should be ridden with little resistance in response to the rider at a walk, trot & canter. Rider may be asked to back up. Road Hack: This class is judged on the” movement/action” & obedience of the horse, as well as the ability of the rider. During the class riders will be asked to walk, trot, extend the trot, canter, hand gallop and must halt in one direction. Only 8 riders to hand gallop at a time. The rider must show complete control of their horse at all times. Proper English attire is required for this class. Riders may be asked to back their horses. Costume Class: Judged on costume originality, attention to detail, theme and overall appearance. Rider may be asked to trot. Leadline riders are eligible. Keep in mind not to add to your costume that could scare or spook other riders horse. Walk/Trot Crossrails: Walk/Trot Rider judged on ability to negotiate jumps at a walk and trot and correctly complete the Jump Course. Jump Course will be posted at show office. Equitation Over Fences Beginner 18”: Riders equitation while negotiating and completing jumps Walk/Trot/Canter and correctly complete the Jump Course. Jump course will be posted at show office. Equitation Over Fences Intermediate 2': Riders equitation while negotiating and completing jumps at a Walk/Trot/Canter and correctly complete the Jump Course. Jump course will be posted at show office. Equitation Over Fences Advanced: Riders equitation while smoothly negotiating and completing jumps at a Walk/Trot/Canter and correctly completes the Jump Course. Jump course will be posted at show office. Command Class: Judged on obedience, speed & quick response with transitions of gaits. Spotters will be on the rail Parade Class: Show at animated walk & parade gait. May be asked to halt & stand quietly. Judging is 75% on performance - 25% on appointments. Walk/Trot Western Equitation: Ability of rider at a walk & jog. Rider may be asked to back up. Western Equitation: Judged on the riders western skills of legs, hands, body position at a walk/jog/lope. Rider may be asked to back up. Walk/Trot Western Pleasure: The horse should be a pleasure to ride, be very consistent at a walk & jog. Rider may be asked to back up. Western Pleasure: The horse should be a pleasure to ride, be very consistent at a walk, jog, and lope. Rider may be asked to back up. Walk/Trot/Canter Pattern Open: Open to English or Western tack and attire. Judged on the ability to complete the posted course correctly, correct transitions and overall presentation. Going Off Course is elimination. Groom's Class: Intended for anyone who has not shown a horse/pony in any class that day. Hat & boots required. Other show apparel is optional. |
