Notes from February 28, 2006 Meeting
Thursday, March 02, 2006
Good afternoon NCRC members and friends;
We had a great meeting last night, but sorry to hear that there were conflicts with other meetings, so some of our regulars were not able to attend.

Discussed at the meeting:

Meeting Date:
I sent out an email last night asking about setting the meeting date to the last Wednesday of the month and have receive 7 yes votes and 0 NO votes. So, it is looking good for the last wednesday of each month. I will check with Lynn at the Snowmobile club to make sure that is fine with them.

Horsin' Around Snack & Chat:
Almost everyone came early (about a dozen people) and we chatted and talked about our horses and stuff! Thanks to everyone who brought the food and drinks..... Lynn Robinson, those homemace molasses cookies were awesome!! The rest of us "store bought" ...... Kuddos Lynn!

Class Lists:
We went over last years' Class List for the 2 Equitation Shows and they will remain very much the same as last year. Karen and Crystal Clukey offered to put together the game show again this year. They did a great job last year, but they (and we agreed) that they are going to put more classes in that take talent and not just speed. SO, they are going to come up with some new things.

Judges:
We went through a bunch of names of judges and Prez Jill will contact them to find out who is available and prices.

Fund Raising:
We decided to have a Bottle Drive, but with a twist. We are going to have a "Horse Drawn Bottle Drive" downtown Dexter in May. I have contacted Travis and he thinks it will be fun too! He is going to get back to me on dates. Members who have carts, can come along with passengers who can go to doors to pick up the bottles and we can put the bottles in the big wagon. We will let the police know and probably have a 4-wheeler or something like that to be in front to keep traffic safe. It will be fun and create excitement intown. I will put out a press release in late March or early April when details are more in place. Your thoughts?

We also discussed having a 50/50 drawing at each show to help raise some funds as well. Everyone thought that was a good idea as well.

Trailer/Office:
As many of you know, our office/trailer is owned by Guy Currier who has generously allowed us to use it. But, Guy may have to use it for work at times, so it was decided that someone could hook onto my camper and we could use that IF we need too. Judy Edgerly offered an older house trailer, but it may cause problems to transport it to the ring and would need work. Also the size may be too big for the space.

Thats it for now...
Judy
