TROT to hold Trail Trials
Monday, August 08, 2005
CENTRAL MAINE - Trail Riders of Today will be holding Trail Trials on Sunday August 21st, rain or shine. Start time is 9:00am Sharp with Registration from 8:00-8:30am.

Come one, Come all, to participate or just watch as horse and rider negotiate (12) common obstacles found on the trail. The T.R.O.T. club is organizing a day of skill for both you and your horse, to be held at Farview Farm on the Kennebec Road in Dixmont. Judging will be based on how well you and your horse work together to overcome various trail obstacles.

Riders will be sent out in small groups. Junior riders will have at least (1) senior rider with each group. Helmets will be required for all juniors and recommended for senior riders.

Ribbons will be awarded up to 6th place based on overall score and a trophy will be awarded for high point horse and rider in both junior and adult divisions.

A short trail will be marked (approximately 4 miles) for anyone who wishes to go for a ride after completing the obstacles. We will be having a potluck lunch after the trials, so everyone bring a side dish and also bring your raingear.

For directions or more information, contact Betty Davis at 234-4700 or Pam Logue at 269-2558 or farviewfarm@midmaine.com Entry fees: $5 (members), $10 (nonmembers) and $15 (families).

Come and enjoy a day with your horse on the trail.
